378 (Mannock) Squadron is the local Air cadet Squadron based at Wellingborough in Northamptonshire. Our usual parade strength is about 30-40 cadets, our catchment area includes Wellingborough and about 8 to 10 surrounding villages. We have recently moved to a new headquarters which is situated in Spring Gardens, just off of Oxford Street, behind the National Tyre Centre opposite Kwikfit. Cadets from Wellingborough squadron take part in many activities such as Flying, Target Shooting, Model Making, Camping and Sports, there are also competitions with other squadrons and visits to RAF stations. Apart from the main air cadet activities, the squadron helps out with local events, have provided marshals for carnival processions and fairs and a guard of honour for visitors to the town. The local carnival events give the cadets a chance to have fun and work as a team for the local community.
If you are between 13 and 18 you can join the ATC as a Cadet. We also have opportunities to join as a member of staff, by doing this you will be helping young people to experience outdoor activities and foster the spirit of adventure. |
